Jaguar will not install!!

Flowerpower iMac, standard config. We've tried two different sets of Jaguar CDs and each time it just hangs on the 'reading packages' install screen. We don't even get to the license agreement. The CD rom is spinning and the mouse is moving. That new little spinning thing completes a rotation about once every 30min. It has sat like this for the past TEN HOURS!! WTF!!??



Ran every disk utility under the sun, Mac Test Pro, etc. Nothing is wrong with the Mac that we can tell.

    Have you updated the iMac's firmware to the latest version? There should be a firmware update on the OS X CD. If not, download it from apple.com.



    See if that works.
