Toasted Firewire/iPod???
Ok, I know that this sounds really idiotic, but bear with me here. I recently (2 weeks ago) picked up a new 10 gb iPod. Love it, has been working great. Plugged it in last night to the back of my QS 733 and the computer locked right up (running 10.1.4). I have never had that happen before...very shocked. Restarted, and os X would not start. Finally, I looked in the back and the iPod firewire was plugged in upside down. At this point I began to panic, the firewire plug slid perfectly in in this manner, but now the computer would not start AND the iPod was DEAD. Needless to say, after unplugging the iPod, the computer restarted, and after a 15 min wait, the iPod finally started working again. Everything peachy? Nope, the firewire on the QS does not work at all now...neither port. Also, the iPod is acting straaaaange...looking at firewire one, it looks like the plug is defective, allowing one to plug the port in the incorrect way...now, as the QS is about a month out of warranty, is there any thing that I can do?? What are my options??
