My cradle has a serial port instead of a USB port. Will a serial to USB adapter allow me to sync my Palm with my Mac? Do I need a new cradle? Thanks in advance.

I use <a href="
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004RIUB/qid=1032122448/sr=2-2/ref=sr_2_2/102-4758122-0924154"
; target="_blank">this</a>. Works fine with both a Palm V and my Kyocera smartphone, on both a TiBook and a PowerMac G4.

I have the palmconnect adaptor.
For some reason, whenever I want to sync I have to unplug the USB from my computer... plug it back in... and then try to sync...
Anyone know what's going on?

I would guess that Serial Port Monitor isn't catching it. Is it plugged in at system startup/login?
