Corrupted PDF file

I made the mistake of trying to create a custom icon for a .pdf file with Pic2Icon in Jag. The file now doesn't have any icon (none whatsoever, nothing to click on in the Show Info dialog), and won't open in Create, Preview or Acrobat. Tried running it through Pic2Icon again to no avail. Is there anything I can do to help restore this file, or am I SOL? It's one of those Amazon.com rebate forms, so any help would be... valuable.

Thanks!

Try opening it in a text editor. What text do you see? What are the first few characters?

And what is the rebate form for? Maybe someone else has a copy.

Well, this is the entire readout when I drop the .pdf into TextEdit (I didn't know you could do that!):

    [quote]%PDF-1.3

    %Õ??

    1 0 obj

    <<

    /Type /Catalog

    /Pages 3 0 R

    /Outlines 2 0 R

    /Dests 5 0 R

    /PageMode /UseNone

    >>

    endobj

    2 0 obj

    <<

    /Type /Outlines

    /Count 0

    >>

    endobj

    Seems like a lost cause.

It was the Jaguar rebate, of course. Stupid me.

Well, thanks for the tip, qazll. Interesting stuff.

You, sir (or madam), are a GOD. Thanks! Boy, I was really hitting my head against the wall when I did that. I leave this one in its own folder.
