I prefer coloured Finder windows but it annoys me when I can't pick the exact mach to the Desktop Picture I'm using. (I don't like pictures in the windows) What would be the easiest way to import the right colour? I need to pick it from the desktop picture and use it in the Finder windows

Thanks in advance

Can't you just use the magnifying glass in the color picker?

What do you mean you can only get "so close" with the picker? The picker has a range of millions of colors. Click the magnifying glass, take it over the color you want to use, click. In every case I've tried, that works flawlessly.

Is that really not working?

You could always open the image in an editor like GraphicConverter or Photoshop, get the RGB values on the color you want, and enter them manually into the Finder color picker.

Or use the DigitalColor Meter in the Utilities folder to get the RGB values and enter them manually like Brad said.

I don't know exactly what you mean by that, but if you needed a last resort couldn't you create a 1 x 1 pixel image of that color and set that as the background image? Or will it not repeat the image? I forget now.

Do you have Photoshop or Photoshop-like application? You can use the eye dropper and write down the RGB/HSB value from the info palette.
