Disappearing Dock

I'm running OS X 10.2.1 on my ddr dual 1 GHZ Powermac (mirrored doors). For some reason, the dock disappears (usually briefly) and then pops back up - like it's recycling. Sometimes it disappears completely, and I can't bring it back without restarting. My Dock preference panel is NOT set to "Automatically Hide and Show Dock."



Any suggestions?
