What's the deal with 10.2.1 and FCP 3.0.2?

Myself and several other FCP users have found 10.2.1 very unstable while rendering using FCP 3. I been to the Apple dicussion boards and was wondering if anyone here can help?



Here is the setup:

G4 933, 1.5G ram, dual monitor, NTSC

2 x 60G drives

80G QPS external firewire

FCP 3.0.2



All my files are on the firewire and have heard that this is part of the problem with all the "unexpected quits" while rendering. is it the drive? is it 10.2? is it FCP 3?
