Super drive firmware update failed

what gives? according to apples Super drive update page, i need to update my firmware in order to use new high speed media, yet when i tried to install it, it said:

The update not compatible with this model Macintosh



i have a dual gig that i purchased in march 2002



confused..

    i don't know . it sez PowerMac or iMac but i guess the PowerMac one isn't posted yet

    firmware update worked fine on my iMac G4 15"lcd for which it was intended...g
