In the Prefs I selected Navigator (chimera) but since I updated it, it doent launch it anymore. It defaulted to Internet Explorer. I kept reselecting Navigator, but no dice.

I even deleted Internet Explorer and then selected Navigator. But, instead it launches Mozilla. Its just DOESNT want to launch the damn thing as default web browser!!!

How the hell can I reset it??

ZO, you really should have been able to find an answer to this on your own.

[This is a cross-post from the Software forum.]

See <a href="http://www.eternaltedium.com/cgi-bin/chimeraboard/ikonboard.cgi?s=3dbe94fc1860ffff;act=ST;f=1;t=150"; target="_blank">this thread</a> on the Chimera Board for instructions on how to set Chimera (or another browser) as your default. Basically, you need to remove the two files below and restart. Then your browser of choice should stick.

    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.LaunchServices.UserCache.csstore

    and

    /Library/Caches/com.apple.LaunchServices.LocalCache.csstore

To remove the latter, you will need admin privileges. The easiest way to get rid of it is in the Terminal. Type:

    sudo rm /Library/Caches/com.apple.LaunchServices.LocalCache.csstore

(it will ask for your password)

Hope this works just as well for you as it did for me.

I don't think it has anything to do with the version of Chimera you're running, but with how often you download new versions of your browsers. For some reason, if you change browsers often, the browser preference has a tendency to become corrupted. here's a semi dumb question... how do I get to root directory with terminal? typing "cd" only lets me get to root in my own user directory

Glad to hear that it works now. Isn't it funny how we still need to restart OS X despite its stability?

Do you download manually, or use ChimeraKnight?

(Which is available on Versiontracker, and which is a fantastic script for anyone wanting to test the nightly builds btw.)

I like the concept of CK, but prefer manual control. I download manually and immediately rename Chimera by adding the date/build, e.g. "Navigator 20021031". This allows me to distinguish between builds without using Get Info. I don't download every build. Which build I download depends on feedback on the Chimera Board and how much time I want to kill.

I would like to stress my disagreement with this premise, and this as a person who has extensively visited both these cities (although my being Belgian might cause some bias).

Paris is posh, sterile and horribly overpriced.

Brussels is happening very radically. The only thing which you could arguably claim is that Paris is bigger (and I might even grant you that it is a bit more beautiful).
