Alias arrow

is there anyway to make an alias without getting this arrow? its makes the whole icon ugly...its VERY unpleasing to my eyes

There is no "switch" to disable this, I believe.
Though, you could change the actual arrow badge itself in the SystemIcons.bundle. It's ID -20789 of the SystemIcons.rsrc file. You'll have to restart the computer for the change to take effect.
