I need an app that will convert this AIF to an MP3 and can only find apps that do vice versa. Anyone know of one like SoundApp for OS 9?

    have you tried <a href="http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=10003&db=mac"; target="_blank">Sound Studio</a> from <a href="http://www.versiontracker.com"; target="_blank">www.versiontracker.com</a> ?

it's a great little shareware app. that should cover that IIRC, although it's been a while since i used mine. i believe you get 14 free, full featured uses, after that you have to pay. give it a look and let me know if that worked or not.

Nope, this Sound Studio doesn't export or save as mp3. Nice little program though, reminds me of Sound Edit 16 but just a little stripped down.

Anyone else have any solution? Can Quicktime Pro do this? I joined two mp3's in Quicktime into one AIF and cannot figure out how to get it back to MP3.

just drag the AIFF to your library and then select it then from the advanced menu choose convert selection to MP3

if that doesnt work, try Amadeus II it is on versiontracker also, has worked for me. I use it to delete blank portions of MP3s and to join and separate tracks.. it converts everything into AIFF from tons of other formats and vise-versa

Will SoundApp ever come to MacOS X? I used to use it a lot. This is what the other half of iTunes should be! iTunes has the best playlist ever, and SoundApp is the GraphicConverter of sound! Maybe Apple should look into this...

The SoundApp page said stay tuned for important announcements on Feb! I've e-mailed Norm several times and never gotten a response. Hopefully he's busy building a SoundApp X <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />
