Windows Media and IE 5.2

I finally bit the bullet and installed Windows Media Player X the other day. Here's the problem:

The player works fine on its own. It can open any URL directly as one might expect. But, I am still having serious plugin problems in IE. It works occassionaly as a plugin, then on most pages I just get a page that looks like source code when it tried to load a movie. I tried switching the file helpers so that.asf video is set up to be handled by the Windows Media plugin. I also tried to have it open the video with the application.....no dice.

What is going on here? My thought is that there is some problem witht he location of the plugin. I am running Jaguar, 10.2.1.
