OS X Server: LDAP/Open Directory problem

Hi,

we're running an XServe on OS X Server 10.2.1 and experience the following problem:

The user accounts are managed using the LDAP server. When a user tries to change the password with the passwd command (e.g. using a ssh connection to the XServe) he can log in using either the old or the new password afterwards. In some cases there's the additional problem that the user is unable to change his password again as neither the old nor the new password are accepted as authentication by the passwd command and connections to an exported directory from a Windows XP machine via Samba are also denied.

I can reset the password as root, however.

I'm not sure if this only occurs since we upgraded to 10.2.1, did anyone experience similar problems so far?

Best regards,

Michael
