Verizon did it now AT&T is doing it.

It's just another way to say their raising their rates.  It's marketing hype.  It's meant to raise the min you have to pay.  They think the consumer is dumb and will jump on the new rates.   It's also so they can match what Verizon is doing.

1 smartphone                                                        $ 35                       Unlimited Talk and Text

1 smartphone                                                        $ 35                       Unlimited Talk and Text

6 GB data shared between phones &/or devices       $ 90                      Shared Data

                                                                           ----------------

                                                                            $160

Add a basic messaging phone   $30 each                                             Shared Data, Talk and Text

Add a smartphone  $35 each                                                               Shared Data, Talk and Text

Add a Laptop, MiFi hotspot, netbook, mobile connect  $20 each             Share Data Only

Add a Tablet or Gaming device  $10 each                                             Share Data Only

Their bundling in the unlimited talk and text.

You have no option to lower your minutes.

You have no option to opt out of texting or a lower your texting plan

If you add a phone it's no longer $9.95 per phone it's now either $30 or $35 per phone min.

Each device you add has a min cost.  If your sharing the data, why the additional cost?

The only benefit I see is for those who talk on their phone a lot and need unlimited talk.
