How to import AOL file cabinet into OSX Mail

Hello all,

AOL has been my ISP for ages.

I have many file cabinets (containing incoming & outgoing email) saved over the years each time I switched computers and upgraded the MacOS. I'd like to switch over to Jaguar 10.2 and use OSX's Mail application. Does anyone have any tips about importing all my old emails from AOL into OSX Mail? Thanks in advance. Billy

Mail can import from these apps:

    ? Entourage

    ? Outlook Express

    ? Claris Emailer

    ? Netscape

    ? Eudora

    ? Mail itself

    ? standard mailboxdata (.mbox)

I saw those choices, but is AOL's file cabinet/email compatible?

I don't think so. (But I don't really know, though)

As far as I know, it's not compatible.

I helped my buddy migrate from AOL to Optimum Online and we spent an entire Sunday morning forwarding emails one at a time. Sucks, but if you get a friend to help and you use copy and paste for the emial address it goes much faster. I got on my laptop and accessed his AOL account while he fired up his computer for his new OOL account. I began to forward his saved emails one by one and he filed them in MS Outlook. Something like 400 emails in 10 different categories. What a pain the the ass! The good news is that he was very impressed with my Ti Book and will probably go Mac when he replaces his Dell desktop (450 MHz P III).
