My computer refuses to let me delete something...

I have a .wmv file on my desktop that can't be deleted. This is the first time OS X (10.2) has been stubborn with me. Whenever I drag it to the trash it says [quote]"The item is being used by another task right now. (Other tasks include moving, copying, or emptying the Trash.)Try again when the other task is complete.

Whats the deal? I'm not doing anything with the file. I've tried shutting down the computer so that maybe it would stop doing whatever it's doing but it still doesn't work. Do I have to go into the terminal to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Stubborn File Remover didn't work. However, Mantain 1 worked like a dream! Very useful program.
