File Exchange problem
Greetings!
A co-worker of mine is having a difficult time setting up his Mac to open tiffs with PhotoShop via the File Exchange control panel
Currently, if he double clicks on a tiff it opens in PictureViewer by default.
When he tries to manually associate PhotoShop to open tiffs, the dialog box with the "Show only recommended choices" check box is greyed out - it won't let him uncheck that box so that he can point to PhotoShop.
Any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
(Quicksilver G4 running 9.2.2 btw)

I just tried it on my g4 9.2.2 and it doesn't have the show only recommended box. It just has the "change" button. double check to make sure it is running the 9.2.2 vers of file exchange. Mine says add, remove, change.
1. Open the File Exchange control panel.
2. Under the PC Exchange tab, I hit Add.
3. It searches for applications, then once that's complete, I type tif into the extension box, click on PhotoShop 7.0 to select it and select 8BIM under file type. Finally, I click Add to close the dialog box.
5. If I now double click on any .tif file on the hard drive, I am met with this dialog box - except that the "Show only recommended choices" check box is checked and not selectable (it's greyed out).
PhotoShop is not in the list and I cannot uncheck the box. And once again, the tif opens only in PictureViewer despite the file mapping via File Exchange.
I'm stumped.

No scroll the list. you should be able to scroll down the list until you see .tiff. Click on it once and hit the change button. Photoshop should show up as a choice.
