Heya. I know that this is mainly a Mac message board but I'm sure there are some Windows experts here too.

My friend has an older 600Mhz P3 computer and he's having trouble with his video card. He can't play back Real Media files (no rants about the format please...). He can hear the audio just fine but the video is sluiggish. He was able to watch these RMs fine before he started to have computer troubles. What can I tell him to do? It would be helpful if one of you could IM him on AIM at Squirrel3D. He really misses watching his RM collection which I dare not mention what they are.

Thanks all in advance,

His problem could be any number of things but the first thing he should do is make sure he has the most recent driver for his video card. My advice to him would be archive his collection to cd-r or zip disks before he tries to much so that he doesnt loose it all when windows blows up.

Has he updated his drivers? If so, can he roll them back? what is his OS version and RM player version?

Does he have any other problems playing any other media files?
