OSX prints yellow backround on everything?

So we have two ti books with Jag on them at work. Whenever we print from mail, entourage, word, PP, text edit, whatever (except photoshop, and illustrator, i think) It puts a cream yellow background under the text. Its weird cuz it affects all the programs, unless it has to do with the printer, HP Colorlaserjet 4550N. When i print to the B&W HP it prints fine, of course it wouldn't be yellow it would look gray which it doesn't. I dont remember having this problem at home on jag with an epson. Any help? <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

oh and I didn't install any drivers im using the ones that came with Jag.

thanks

I know very little about printers interacting with the OS, but in this case it sounds like the printer might be off, like, it thinks that the pastey yellow color is pure white.

I'd be surprised if it were the printer...I have a PBG4 with Jag and printing to an LJ4500 over IP does almost the same thing, only the yellow tint shows up on images. It works fine from OS9 and Windows machines. I'm guessing it's something with the color profile, but I haven't gotten it fixed yet.

It may not help, but you're not the only one with this problem.

Check your colorsync settings, and turn off any custom ones you may have set for a test. In particular be aware of the hotpoint settings you might have turned on.

Try selecting the monitor by the make and model, if you can, or see if there are drivers available for that particular model.

As a test, grab a copy of the screen and import it into one of the programs which work. See if the white is a different color (Use the information tool/box to confirm)

I had a problem when I updated to OS X where the colors went to hell. When I bought a new monitor they worked again... after I chose the new monitor profile...

    go figure.
