USB Printing Problem

I have a beige g3 with a belkin usb card connected to an HP Deskjet 632c. With Gimp print and hpijs I am able to use this printer on my iBook. With the exact same config i am unable to print on the beige g3. I know the card works, and have tried different pci slots. I have restarted and followed all the gimp print directions. By process of elimination it must be a proble with the usb pci card and printing. has anyone had similar problems or can offer any potential solutions?
