DiskCopy Error

I get the following message when creating a disk image from a folder with Disk Copy:

"You have inserted a disk containing no volumes that Mac OS X can read. To use the unreadable volumes, click Initialize. To continue with the disk inserted, click Ignore."



The disk image is created nevertheless and the dialog disappears after a while. The strange thing is, that the dialog only shows up the first time I use Disk Copy after booting. It does not appear subsequently, until I reboot. The log file of Disk Copy reports nothing unusual, but I found the following lines of text in the console log. This may be of some help to understand and narrow down the problem.



Console log error after booting:

Mac OS X Version 10.2.2 (Build 6F21)

PPPExec(PPP_STATUS) failed: status = 19

PPPExec(PPP_STATUS) failed: status = 19



Console log error when using Disk Copy:

2002-11-23 00:55:00.903 Disk Copy[392] Unknown class specified: drop-folder

Initialized /dev/rdisk1s2 as a 22 MB HFS Plus volume

You must be root to run /System/Library/Filesystems/hfs.fs/hfs.util.



This is what I have tried so far to get rid of this annoying error:

- Trashed the Disk Copy .plist file.

- Repaired disk permissions with Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.

- Repaired the entire disk with Disk Utility by booting into Mac OS X 10.2 Retail CD.

- Ran fsck -y on startup.

- Zapped the PRAM on startup.



The problem first occured after I had to "Force to Quit" Disk Copy some days ago.

If anybody knows how to fix this, please let me know.

    Ich gseh's zwar nöd ganz ii, aber ich has dir z'lieb jetzt g'änderet. Quotes sind den aber uf ämenä zwölfzöller au schlächt zum läse. Oder werdet die andersch umbrochä? Ich han es kraftbuäch, und det gseht's ordelig uus.

    merci. Ich meine, uf mim zweite 19" monitor (1280*1024) häts au schlächt uusgseh. s problem mit CODE isch das er kei ziileumbrächig macht. QUOTE macht das scho.

    Are you thinking of other users as persons (who are having the same problem) or other users as defined by the OS?

    I did not create another (OS) user yet. Maybe this will help, but I would not count on it. The privileges seem to be OK.

    I guess, I'll try this next.

    Blos well ich ersch siit churzem min sänf im forum däzuegib, heiss das nöd das ich en frischling bin. Ich lise AI siit öppe zwei Jahr regelmässig. Ich bin en sogenantä "long time lurker".

    I get the same error with your version.

    I'll try creating a new user next. Hopefully this will help.
