Are there any telcos in the US who will do a data only plan on an unlocked iPhone?

    Tell them it's for an iPad but give them your iPhone imei. Should work for any carrier.

    Until five seconds later when they see that it's an iPhone IMEI and tell you no, you have to buy a phone plan.
