performance issues in fcp3

im editing a film in fcp 3 and now, for some reason, when lets say i hit play or scroll down the timeline, i get the beachball for like 30 seconds before everything is okay. this happens to my allmost every movement. it never did this to me before, it only started a few days ago.



i have 30 minutes edited so far, and ill be adding another 40 minutes... is this why? should i break down my film into multiple sequences so its easier on the computer?



im also running quicktime 5, os 10.1.5 (and dont tell me to get jaguar cause i wont anytime soon) quicksilver 867 with 1.12 gigs of ram, geforce 2, hd are not full by far.

    none.



    ive seperated my 30 minutes into 5 seperate sequences and so far no problems.
