iMac (original) screen gone dark

My sister has been using my old Bondi Blue iMac (original) and she just told me about a problem she has been having with the built in screen.

Two days ago, the screen lost it's 'brightness'. With everything turned up all of the way you can see the screen, but it's still very dark.

Does anyone have any suggestions? The computer is running Mac OS 9.2.2.

looks like the screen is about to die.

if you open the iMac, you'll find some swivelling buttons to change the brightness and the sharpness.

Okay, my sister just admitted that she spilled juice on the computer on Sunday. The keyboard no longer works and I noticed that it was 'sticky'.

I'm not about to open the iMac and deal with a problem CRT unless I really have to. Time to look at cheap alternatives I guess. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

    -check "displays"/"color"

-open up case (no big thing) and adjust brightnes with the two buttons on the side

if you open up the case: unplug! and wait 1-2hours!

the crt isn't something to touch under power.
