Apple hot News ??

My MBP isn't set up to download email from my ISP.  No email is downloaded, yet  I get "Apple Hot News" on the MBP.


 


How does that work?

    Hot News is an RSS feed like this:

    feed://appleinsider.com.feedsportal.com/c/33975/f/616168/index.rss

    The messages get collected directly from the internet and not a mail server.
