The new iPhone has an A6 chip. Is this new chip more powerful than the current A5X chip in the iPad?

Do you expect that the current retina display iPad will be upgraded to the A6 chip when the iPad mini is announced?

Yes in some ways, no in others.

Not when, if. It's a terrible idea.

And no, the iPad likely wouldn't be updated until next spring when it actually gets an update (and Lightning, better cameras, etc.).

The CPU is a far stronger performer. The details on the GPU are not well known.

I would expect that the next iPad would get an enhanced A6.
