1) Does it take more memory or system resources if I put more icons in the dock?



2) Does it matter if I hide or leave the dock unhidden?

    1) It may take a little more RAM to cache the 128x128 icons themselves, but it's practically negligible compared to what other parts of the system use. So, no, it doesn't really matter how many icons it has.



    2) That's strictly your own preference. I like to keep it hidden so I have more room for my windows.
