spiderwebs of static
I was visiting my brother this weekend, and he asked me about a static electricity problem with his computer monitor, it's a 19" Mitsubishi Diamond-tron, forget the exact model number, but it was a middle model, not the cheapest, but decent. Now when ever he turns on the monitor, a large amount of static is visibly obvious on the display large sparks, in the forms of webs shoot across the screen, some about an inch and a half long, acompanied with a bit of static click noise. Otherwise the monitor works perfectly, but this seems excesive, anyone experienced a similar sort of static start-up to a monitor? Should he be getting it repaired before it really burns up?

Actually no, he should be charging admission. And maybe some free psychedelics?
