Desktop Photos : Can bright images drain portable batteries faster?

Just wondering if a white desktop pattern might cause a portable's batteries to drain faster. I use a bright white background with my logo on it....wondering if a black background would use less energy!

    no they won't.



    the display uses the same amount of power regardless of what's on the screen.



    The backlight brightness has a HUGE effect on power consumption though.



    If you want to conserve power, turn down the brightness as much as you can stand it.
