Networking: I must be slower then a 68008

I've actually managed to fail networking two modern macs, running OS X.



Can somone please post what you must do, I am not really sure what I am missing, i turned on apple talk, heck i even turned on all the sharing. I have a single ethernet cable between the iBook and the PM G4, and nothing. The pinging the iBook works but otherwise the computers don't see eachother...any suggestions?

    Yeah make sure hte e-net wire you got is a cross-over cable.

    well i'm not sure that it is cross over, but even when i tried connecting them through a hub it wouldn't work



    ...how would i tell if its cross over cable, if its not labeled
