I wonder if anyone knows how to get XP to do this...

1. when when in window display option is in : "detailed" can folder's size be displayed?

2. can the size be displayed in anything but kilobytes? I want it to do like os9 osx: display 1mb instead of 1024k, 1GB instead of a gazillion Kilobytes

help

By default it should already display in Mbs or GBs.

if its not, then my guess is you'll need to alter that god damn awful thing called the registry. i dont know where about to look, just type regedit in the run book and have a poke

hmmm, perhaps i wasn't being as clear as i can be... apologies.

what i mean was that when you put a window in "Detailed" view, where it lists (in columns) Name, Size, Type and Date Modified. . . etc. if the file type is say, a mp3 it lists 24,999k insteat of 2.whatever MB. Second point is that when the file type is a 'folder', the size is blank.

These are some of the yucky things about win xp. There is no way to change the unit it displays size in. As for folders, you need to right click on it and click Properties, this should give you the size.
