Printer sharing Broken since X.2.3

The title sums it up in short. I have a HP usb 932 deskjet attached to my QS867, and an imac 400dv both are on a cable router and printer sharing had worked flawlessly since jaguar was installed. but since this last update the imac cannot find the printer and printcenter on the imac gets hung up if I select "add a printer" and then has to be forced quit. I have deleted the pref files for printcenter, fixed all permissions on both machines.

Printing works fine on either machine if I hook the printer up directly to it. I am stumped.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, and Happy Holidays, Randy

that is a nice app, but it doesn't fix printer sharing. guess I'm out of luck 'till I pay $130 dollars for another OS upgrade, then have it work for 3 months and stop again. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

The printing situation for OSX has really become an embarrasment for Apple, heck, the whole periferal game is an embarrasment. maybe they should just throw in the towel.

I am running 10.2.3 on an iMac 266 and an iBook 466.

Printer sharing works just fine ... I just verified it.

The printer is plugged in (USB) to the iMac ... the computers are networked via Airport and all works flawlessly.

After installing 10.2.3, the first time I tried to print I had to reselect the DeskJet920 in the printing pane. I don't see why it shouldn't work on your machine.

The problem is apparently not with the OS, unless it's specific to the driver for your printer.
