I have a dual G4 1ghz quicksilver, original 80gig HD, and 2 partitions. I have formated my HD with the 10.2 Disk Utility and then have installed OS X 10.2 on the first partition, which work great (It's the active system now.) and also on my other partition as a backup system in case of a system failure, or for repairing the first partition. OS X never boot on the second partition. Norton, disk warrior, re-format and re-install does nothing. OS X install completely, no error, it appear in the startup system pref, but as soon I select it as my boot partition, it refuse to boot and come back to the first partition.

I have also try to zap pram. And OS server does'nt work too on my second partition, but OS 9 boot great.

Thanks for help !

You have the newest firmware? If you're not sure, go to <a href="http://www.apple.com/support/"; target="_blank">Apple Support</a>.

There's no updates for my G4 (Quicksilver, jan 02). The newer firmware is for the august model.
