Deleting Preferences in OS X

Can you delete preferences for a program that keeps crashing? My photoshop splashscreen balks right at the "reading preferences" point. Where are application prefs located? Anyone know? I tried reinstalling photoshop, but it doesn't change anything. Are there any uninstallers for the Os X? Maybe a program that deletes all of photoshops related files would take the bad prefs with it, so a clean install would work. Or am I just tripping?

you can also press "shift-alt-cmd" immediately after you started PS or IR, to reset your preferences.
