iPod (10G Mac) + WindowsXP + Xplay = Disaster.
OK, I got my iPod and a friend put some tunes on while I hunted for a firewire card.
all seemed fine.
I got my firewire card and XPlay, but I keep getting CRC errors...
This morning I went back to shop and got a new iPod (only a week old) and the same thing is happening, but this one wont even load up when I disconnect the firewire. It just keeps rebooting..
The firewire card I got was a very cheap one, would this matter? its not like I am doing any DV work.
Help....
ps. I did manage to quite hapily transfer a 200 meg avi to the ipod, but I can hear the drive clicking as if it keeps resetting.
*** Edit ***
Never mind, just took it back for a refund. Me takes one off the count ipod thread... maybe i'll try again with the new ones in a month or so...

he eventually got a better card, and things have worked fine since then.
check the chipset of the card that you have. i believe it's certain lucent chipsets that have problems.
