What is the procedure for updating from 10.1 to 10.2? Anything I need to be careful about or do I just run the update?

You need to buy Jaguar(Mac OS 10.2). Its available on the Apple website and it costs US$129. U can get in cheaper with Edu pricing or try Amazon.com

when you come to the install-screen in Jaguar, choose "
Archive & Install
" as an option and check the checkbox to "preserve user and network settings".
This will preserve your existing user, but create a completely new system folder.
