Hello.

I set-up my songs with all of the detail and by genre.

I see where to get to songs by genre on the iPhone, but how do I play all songs within a specific genre?

I am trying to stay away from creating playlists for each genre.

Thanks.

"I am trying to stay away from creating playlists for each genre."

Make a new playlist in the sidebar. Then click on your genre - Cmnd A to select all. Drag the highlighted list onto your new playlist in the sidebar. Done. Turn on shuffle if you want to mix them up.
Is that what you're looking for ?

edit: oh well I'm an idiot! on the phone! sheesh - read the post Rob! duh
Anyways - I'd do the above on a computer then sync that with the phone.

Unnecessary. The Genres will sort into playlists automatically based on that tag. You can pull them up on the iPhone and with iTunes 11 for sure, using the Genres button when in the music library. If you want to sync just certain genres clicked on the 'selected' button under Music in your sync settings and pick the ones you want
