s/h airport card problems

Anyone know why my Airport setup assistant claims no hardware detected while status bar shows airport icon and offers option to turn on/off? It's installed correctly ( as far as I can tell)... Also, base station only went 'green' after I fiddled with cables

Any help much appreciated

    Ok, it seems I was trying to use OS 9 set up assistant rather than the OS X sup in Utilities.. Now the poblem is with the base station which refuses, on start up, to progress past the single left amber LED stage... Any ideas? New capacitors needed?
