Printer drivers in X seem less full featured than those in 9. At MW we spoke with someone at Epson. He explained that in OS 9 the printer driver is allowed to talk directly to the printer. In X the printer driver is supposed to select from the options the OS provides. This is why X drivers are missing many features that comparable OS 9 drivers have. He also said that Apple is doing a lot of work in this area and that there should be some changes coming by April or so.
