i just downloaded a song in .wav file. how do i convert this into other kbps? can i use itunes somehow? thank you for any information... have a great day!
you can use iTunes to convert the wav to mp3. you can also use lame, which handles mp3s better than iTunes' converter. there are prefs in iTunes relating to mp3 bitrate, and with lame there are command line options. i dont think that wavs come in varying bitrates though.
i know how to convert .wav files into mp3 files from a cd to my hard drive. but i do not know how to convert .wav file that is already downloaded to my hard drive and reformat it into mp3 files. i tried "import" from itunes, etc... it doesn't highlight .wav file.
ok, open the wav file in iTunes (File>Add To Library). Hilite it. Select the Advanced menu, and then the "Convert Selection to MP3" item. That should convert the selected item to an mp3.
thank you very much... something that simple and i was puzzled all day.... :-) thank you again..... have a great day!

It should be easier. The way you did it makes sense so that's the way it should work. Apple's good, but they're not great, apparently.
