Most fonts now gone after installing Safari

I've lost all but a few fonts on my iMac AND my iBook since installing Safari. If it had been just one of the computers, I would think it was something else, but both of them have gone down to a minimum of fonts. I've never added any fonts, and in fact I had never gone into the font directory before discovering that MS Word only had a few fonts on the list, when I remembered there being many. No matter where I look, I only have a handful.

1. Has this happened to other people?

2. Is Safari the culprit?

3. How can I re-install fonts that come with OSX?

Thanks,

trimac

I had the same problem as you. Try restarting your computer and then check for your fonts. It fixed the problem for me.
