vpc - can anyone get me networking?

I have VPC v5 and have updated with the latest patches. I connect my iBook to NT and 2000 servers OK but I can't get the VPC to connect. It can't detect the network which would imply DHCP isn't working. However, the win control panel for network is set for DHCP, the card adaptor and TCP/IP have the right bindings and I am using login to windows network option. It asks for a password and login name which I give correctly but no joy. My systems administrator thinks the PC settings are right. Also VPC is set to virtual switch although I have tried the other settings too and have tried both Win95 and Win98.

Can anyone puzzle this one out. I would be very grateful.

Do you have a firewall active?

i run vpc5 with 95(only one that gives speed) in OSX and can access the net,xp and the mac.

I agree about Win95. I have turned personal firewall off. When I use VPC at home it connects to the internet via airport no problem. It seems to be logging in to a network that is the problem,
