Just got this new machine and I love it. Only problem is the parents don't want to listen to the fan noise being it is kinda loud. Is there anyway that i could fix this problem or has apple done anything in regards to this complaint?
I read somewhere that if its not closed properly it will have a really loud vibration sound. You might wanna check and see if its closed good. I have heard of sites that post mods you can do, but it would void any warranty you have.
You need to update the firmware via software update.
Then shutdown. Press an hold the power button in untill it flashes or makes a loud beep. The fans will run at full whack for a few secs and it should be sorted.
This sorts out the system fans but not the PSU fan.
I have the 17" imac, its sweet. Although I wouldn't mind having a dual 867 or better because video compression is so slow (faster than my pc was but still slow)
