What has my Mac got against .php?

Just curious-what's the difference between a web page with that extension versus say, .html?

I have a dial-up and IE and Safari are slower than usual and choke on these quite badly sometimes. OW handles them better, but not perfectly.

What's the deal?

Jeff

php is a server-side scripting language. Its used to make dynamic pages. I use a php page on one of my muds websites to make a realtime listing of the players that are logged in. Anyways the problems with loading and such is prolly from the code the php is creating or the server is over taxed or its accessing a database which can sometimes be slow.
