Using SATA on an older iMac

Two questions.

I've been buying WD  black internal harddrives and putting them into  Rosewill enclosures.  I'm looking at an ad for a Seagate Barracuda 2 TB for $90.  Sounds good but my question is - is it as good as a WD black?

Second question: My iMac is a few years old - 2.66 GHz core i5 w/OS 10.6.8

'About This Mac' shows it has Serial-ATA Device Tree.  Does that mean it is SATA and  I can use a SATA HDD connection?  The Rosewill enclosures have both SATA and USB 2.00 outputs, so I imagine I can use the SATA HDD anyway. Right?

Thanks
