Overstrikes
- I have an older MBP with SL. When I try to google, there is a continual overstrike on the first letter I enter until I press the enter bar on the trackpad. Then I can type.
This is not a typeover problem where an existing line of type is deleted by new typing. I've read about that online and the fixes for that don't solve my problem. This is only the first letter entered.
- In Word or a textedit, if I highlight something and try to delete it, nothing happens until I press the enter bar on the trackpad and then it will delete.
I've tried hitting every F key both with and without using the Fn key. I've tried System Preferences - Trackpad; and Mouse; and Universal Access. I have not found a way to eliminate the problem; however, I probably am not doing something right. As I've previously mentioned, I am technically challenged - an understatement.
Has anyone had this problem? How did you resolve it? All suggestions gladly accepted.
