One More Time : Why won't the power plug show amber/green?

In OS X, on the dual USB (600Mhz) iBooks, why is it that the power plug doesn't blink amber when charging and stay green when the charge is full? It does it in OS 9.x, why not in OS X?

    Actually, I don't know. I have noticed that my power adapter stopped turning amber after a few months, and I have ONLY worked in OS X since I've had this 'book. You say it's a software issue? I thought the light had broken or something. I don't care much for that light.

    a friends adapter-light also stopped working after a few months. don't know why, tough.
