java on Mac OS 9

Hello

This is a decidely idiotic-type question as the answer is probably obvious, but I usually use either my mac Os X iMac or the unix equipped pcs at university for java programming. Although it took me a while to work it out java on both machines is compiled and run via the command line.

However I hate the damned text editors they have on the university's unix machines so decided, stupidly, to try using their mac OS 9 iMacs instead, only to remember- they don't have a command line.

So if java is installed on a computer with mac OS 9 how are you supposed to use it without a special utility?

I don't know if this helps, but I tryed running my Java programs in OS 9 (CodeWarrior) and they worked fine. There seemed to be some sort of command line created...
