Hardware test memory error
I ran the Apple Hardware Test the other day and got this error code:
mem_/5/8
Anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I assume I'll have to be contacting the Apple Care folks. The last week or so, my computer has been randomly losing some of my preferences. One day my default browser will change, another time my 2nd monitor display settings will revert to default, etc. Are these symptoms of the memory error? I actually ran the test to check on a mouse poblem I'm having (didn't realize then it didn't check peripherals, I'd never used it before), but when I saw that error, it occurred to me that it might be related to the lost preferences that had just started cropping up.
My comp is a PB G4 500, 256m RAM, was running 10.2.3 when the preference stuff started happening, upgraded to 10.2.4 when it came out, but the problems continue.

I also wonder if perhaps your PRAM battery has gone dead, you might want to see what Apple says, they'll know.
