Hi,

Our school uses an ethernet network with server running windows 2k server. Internet access is filtered by MS proxy server v.2.0.

On the wintels here at school, outlook and msn and file sharing apps like Kazaa work well.

However, on the macs connected to the network, they do not work. I happen to be a mac user and all I can do is browse the web.

Does anyone know how i can get them to work?

Do I need a proxy client?

Is there a proxy client for mac?

<a href="http://www.macwindows.com"; target="_blank">www.macwindows.com</a> has certain directions but I don't understand them at all.

Can someone please help? Thanks

well, best would be to skim the pages from <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/outlook/outlook_default.asp"; target="_blank">M$</a> about OE.

Look if you get some advice there.

Can you tell us more about the pc's at your school ? I mean why are they able to do all that stuff and you can't ?

Can't you ask the local IT guy ?

About the proxy... well look in your system preferences under 'network' where you can enter the proxy of a network, which should give you full access.
